British Columbia expects a million job openings in the next ten years
The provincial government has published a fresh forecast.
What's going to change? The government British Columbia plans to invest in daycare and affordable adult education so that the 150,000 people who now stay at home can find suitable jobs.
The Labor Department predicts that 63% of the expected one million jobs will be vacated by people retiring, but 37% will be new jobs.New immigrants under 30 are also expected to fill at least 34% of the jobs.
The provincial government predicts a large number of jobs in the following sectors:
