Minimum wage increased in four provinces
This is the last increase planned for 2021.
On October 1, several regions in Canada scheduled minimum wage increases per hour. This is an annual increase based on inflation rates. The hourly rate increased in the following provinces (amounts in Canadian dollars):
- Ontario — up to $14.35;
- Newfoundland and Labrador — up to $12.75;
- Saskatchewan — up to $11.81;
- Manitoba — up to $11.95.

Workers in New Brunswick province remain the lowest paid, with a minimum wage of $11.75 CAD per hour. Residents of Nunavut, where there has been no wage increase this year, earn the most — a minimum of $16 CAD per hour.
