This will help accelerate the recovery of the province's economy.

The Ontario government is investing $7.7 million CAD to help 2,700 pandemic-affected newcomers find jobs. Nineteen different programs will give new Canadians the skills they need to work in food processing, health care, web development and other high-demand sectors.

"The skills that immigrants can provide to Ontario are critical to moving our economy forward," said Provincial Minister Monte McNaughton. — Our job is to provide the support needed to pursue in-demand and successful careers available in a new country for immigrants."

Recent immigrants have been among the hardest hit by covidual restrictions, with more than 34,000 people losing their jobs. Through the programs developed, they will be able to get the support they need.

Beginning in the fall of 2021, the project will include a variety of programs in online and offline formats. Their participants will learn industry skills and learn about Canadian work culture to launch their careers and succeed.
