Alberta plans to lift all covid restrictions soon

Alberta's population is actively getting vaccinated, which is fast approaching the removal of restrictions in the province.

Currently, 70.2% of Alberta residents aged 12 and older have already been vaccinated with at least one dose, meaning that Alberta will likely remove all mandatory restrictions by July 1.

Alberta residents ages 18 and older have a few more days to enter the Summer Lottery to win $1 million CAD and a host of tourism prizes. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on June 24. The winner will be announced on July 1.

"This is a great day for Alberta! Thanks to residents' decision to get vaccinated, we are just two weeks away from returning to normal life. This is a major milestone and a great achievement, but we will not stop there. We will continue to administer the first and second dose as quickly as possible so that we can open for the summer and not close again," said Provincial Premier Jason Kenney to Alberta residents.

Already 25% of people in Alberta have been fully vaccinated and 55% have only received their first dose so far.
