Vaccinated Alberta residents can travel for free

In addition to three $1 million CAD drawings, the Alberta Summer Open Lottery is offering to compete for 40 more prizes provided by WestJet and Air Canada. Prizes include week-long stays at all-inclusive luxury resorts, as well as flights across Canada and abroad.

Gifts from WestJet and Air Canada will be available to lucky Alberta residents who receive both doses of the vaccine. To enter the drawing, you must complete online registration and receive your first and second two COVID-19 vaccinations before registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on August 24. Winners will be announced on August 31.

Drawings are open to all Albert residents 18 years of age or older.

"The Open Summer Lottery is a rare response to a pandemic that only happens once in a lifetime. While COVID-19 protection is the greatest reward, we have dreamed long enough to return to the activities we love. This is a great opportunity to make some of those travel dreams a reality and encourage more Albertans to get vaccinated," shared Health Minister Tyler Shandro.

• Journey for two to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa, including round-trip economy class flights and all-inclusive accommodation for seven nights.

• One voucher for two people for a roundtrip business class flight to anywhere on the WestJet network.

• 10 vouchers for two people for a round-trip economy class flight to anywhere in Canada.

• Three giveaways of $1,500 CAD to fly with WestJet.

• Five WestJet Rewards gold status drawings.

Air Canada prizes:

• Travel for two to Planet Hollywood Cancun, including roundtrip economy class flight and all-inclusive accommodation for seven nights.

• One voucher for two people for round-trip business class travel anywhere in the Air Canada network.

• 10 vouchers for two people for a round-trip economy class flight to anywhere in Canada.

• Three drawings of 100,000 Aeroplan bonus points.

• Five Aeroplan 50K status drawings.
