The embarrassment was caused by the camera accidentally turning on.

MP William Amos, who represents a municipality in the province of Quebec, found himself in an embarrassing situation when he appeared completely naked at an online meeting of the House of Commons. In a photo that was leaked online, Amos is standing between the flags of Canada and Quebec, covered by his phone. The MP was only seen at the conference by MPs and staffers.

Amos later apologized to his colleagues and said he accidentally ran a video feed while he was changing into his work suit after a run. The MP promised that it would not happen again.

"It was an unfortunate mistake," Amos said.

Quebec MP Claude DeBelfay saw the incident as an occasion to remind parliament of the rules of decency.

"Perhaps we should remind participants, especially men, that not only a tie and jacket are mandatory, but also a shirt, underwear and trousers," she said, adding that they should be careful and watch the camera.

Liberal MP Mark Holland stood up for Amos, saying it was definitely an unfortunate coincidence and not malicious intent. However, he also warned other MPs to be careful and only approach the camera wearing appropriate clothing, even if the camera is off.
