The province of Ontario held two selections on February 8

Candidates with in-demand professions and francophones received invitations.

On February 8, the province of Ontario sent out 622 invitations to apply for nominations under the provincial immigration program. The selection was based on a stream of human capital priorities. For all of 2021, the province invited 6,259 people under this stream.

Candidates were required to have a score of 463 to 467 on the federal Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System, as well as proven experience in one of the following specialties:

  • computer and information systems managers;

  • computer engineers;

  • analysts and database administrators;

  • engineers and software designers;

  • programmers and developers of interactive media;

  • Web designers and developers.

In the second selection on February 8, the province invited 206 francophone qualified professionals. The same rating was required — between 463 and 467 points. For 2021, 651 candidates were invited from Ontario under this stream.
