Newfoundland and Labrador issued 41 invitations on September 25, 2026

The fourth draw in September turned out to be one of the smallest since April 2025.

Newfoundland and Labrador held an immigration draw on September 25, 2026, and issued 41 invitations to apply. All invitations were issued to candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program.

Under the Atlantic Immigration Program, a federal program for the four Atlantic provinces, no invitations were issued this time. The province does not publish the cut-off score for any of the programs.

The previous draw took place on September 18, 2026—exactly one week earlier. At that time, the province invited 61 candidates under the provincial program and one under the Atlantic Immigration Program. The number of invitations issued under the provincial program decreased by 20, or about one-third.

What the latest selections show

The September 25, 2026, draw was the second-smallest since April 3, 2025, when the first draw under the Expression of Interest model took place. The only smaller draw was on September 10, 2026, when the province issued 36 invitations.

Under the provincial program, there have been only two instances during this period when the number of invitations was fewer than 41: 17 invitations on July 10, 2026, and 36 invitations on September 10, 2026.

In September 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador will hold selection rounds every week. During the four selection rounds on September 4, 10, 18, and 25, the province issued 97, 36, 62, and 41 invitations, for a total of 236. Of these, one invitation was for the Atlantic Immigration Program.

By comparison, in September 2025, there were two selection rounds—on September 12 and 26—with 353 and 217 invitations, respectively. The selection rounds have become more frequent, but each one is significantly smaller.

From the beginning of 2026 through September 25, the province held 16 selection rounds and issued 2,300 invitations under the provincial program and 395 under the Atlantic Immigration Program. During the same period in 2025, there were 9 rounds of selection, with 2,018 and 586 invitations issued, respectively.

It turns out that, under the provincial program, the 2026 figure is about 14% higher than last year's, while under the Atlantic Immigration Program, it is about 33% lower.

Who are these programs suitable for?

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program is designed for professionals with a job offer from a local employer, graduates of Canadian educational institutions, and candidates from the Express Entry pool who are ready to move to the province.

The Atlantic Immigration Program works differently. Applicants must have a job offer from an employer approved to participate in the program and a relocation support plan, while the employer itself does not need an LMIA.

The requirements for both programs are described on the pages for the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program and the Atlantic Immigration Program.
