Manitoba held its latest MPNP draw and issued 474 invitations

Most of the invitations were extended to specialists in the natural and applied sciences with a minimum score of 760.

Manitoba held the 280th draw for the MPNP provincial program on September 24, 2026. A total of 474 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply, of whom 148 had an active Express Entry profile.

The majority of invitations went to the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. In the occupational selection round, the province chose candidates who work in Manitoba in the natural and applied sciences occupational group (Broad Occupational Category 2): 417 invitations were issued with a minimum score of 760. One additional invitation was issued to a family physician.

In the French-speaking selection process, 16 candidates received invitations. Under the Skilled Worker Stream, the province invited 40 people whom it selected itself through strategic initiatives: 15 through regional programs, 9 through employer services, 9 through ethnocultural communities, 6 through the French-speaking community, and 1 through a temporary program for obtaining a work permit.

The previous draw took place on September 10, 2026; we reported on it in a news article stating that Manitoba had issued 793 invitations under the MPNP. The current draw resulted in 319 fewer invitations.

What the latest selections show

In its most recent selection rounds, Manitoba has chosen a different group of occupations for points-based selection each time. On July 30, it was occupations in manufacturing and utilities (605 invitations with a cut-off score of 632 points); on August 27, technical occupations and transportation (600 invitations with a cut-off score of 731 points); on September 10, it was healthcare occupations (233 invitations with no published cut-off score), and on September 24, natural and applied sciences. Therefore, cut-off scores from different rounds cannot be directly compared: each group has its own level of competition.

The selection and invitations for French-speaking candidates under strategic initiatives remain stable. French-speaking candidates received 11 invitations on September 10 and 21 on August 27. Under the Skilled Worker Stream, there were 41 invitations on September 10 and 58 on August 27.

Since the beginning of 2026, Manitoba has held 19 draws and issued 6,883 invitations. Draws are held every two weeks.
