Canada doubled the number of invitations for top managers in Express Entry
The passing score dropped by 37 points and the quota increased to 500 spots — the requirements became much more accessible.
On July 10, 2026, the Express Entry system held its second-ever category-based draw for senior managers with Canadian work experience. The first draw took place on March 5, 2026, and over four months have passed since then.
This time, 500 candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residence. The cut-off score was 392 points. Compared to the first draw, the requirements became noticeably easier: back then, the threshold was 429 points, and only 250 candidates received invitations. The score dropped by 37 points, while the number of invitations doubled.
In cases where candidates had the same score of 392 points, priority was given to those who created their profile before March 15, 2026.
Who this draw is for
The category for senior managers with Canadian work experience was introduced by the government as part of updated immigration priorities for 2026. It covers senior-level managers working in Canada in sectors such as finance and business services, healthcare and education, trade and telecommunications, construction, transportation, manufacturing, and utilities.
To qualify, candidates must have verified management experience in Canada in a position that matches one of the occupation classification codes specified for this category.
Invited candidates must submit a complete application package within 60 days, including proof of management experience, language test results, and educational credentials.
