New immigration selection in Ontario
Invitations were sent to doctors, French-speaking specialists, REDI participants, and healthcare workers.
On April 8, 2026, the province of Ontario conducted a new series of targeted immigration draws under the OINP program. Invitations were issued to candidates through the Employer Job Offer streams: Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills.
A total of 1,828 invitations were issued. The draws targeted physicians, French-speaking candidates, REDI initiative participants, as well as professionals in healthcare and early childhood education.
Foreign Worker Stream
Four targeted draws took place in the Foreign Worker stream.
- Physicians: 15 invitations, scores from 43;
- French-speaking candidates: 81 invitations, scores from 35;
- REDI initiative draw: 9 invitations, scores from 46;
- Healthcare and early childhood education: 512 invitations, scores from 20.
The draw for physicians targeted candidates with a job offer.
Invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in the following occupations
- specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine;
- surgeons;
- general practitioners and family physicians.
The French-speaking draw included candidates residing in Canada with a French language proficiency of at least CLB 5.
Invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in the following occupations
- senior managers in construction, transportation, production and utilities;
- managers in administrative services;
- managers in other business services;
- financial and investment analysts;
- securities agents, investment dealers and brokers;
- management consultants;
- specialists in advertising, marketing and public relations;
- supervisors in supply chain, tracking and scheduling coordination;
- executive assistants;
- purchasing agents and officers;
- accounting technicians and bookkeepers;
- insurance adjusters and claims examiners;
- administrative officers;
- property administrators;
- administrative assistants;
- production and transportation logistics coordinators;
- business systems specialists;
- information systems specialists;
- software engineers and designers;
- software developers and programmers;
- industrial and manufacturing engineers;
- architectural technologists and technicians;
- drafting technologists and technicians;
- user support technicians;
- civil engineering technologists and technicians;
- electronic service technicians;
- dental hygienists and dental therapists;
- nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates;
- school principals and administrators of elementary and secondary education;
- assistants in post-secondary teaching and research;
- elementary school and kindergarten teachers;
- ministers of religion;
- researchers, consultants and program officers in health policy;
- paralegals and related occupations;
- social and community service workers;
- early childhood educators and assistants;
- graphic designers and illustrators;
- contractors and supervisors in trades, installation, repair and servicing;
- welders and related machine operators;
- cabinetmakers;
- heavy-duty equipment mechanics;
- automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics;
- auto body collision, refinishing and glass technicians and repairers;
- appliance servicers and repairers;
- supervisors in food and beverage processing;
- central control and process operators in mineral and metal processing.
The REDI initiative draw targeted candidates with a job offer in the counties of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville.
Invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in the following occupations
- managers in other business services;
- financial and investment analysts;
- nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates;
- electrical mechanics;
- motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle and other related mechanics.
A separate large round focused on healthcare and early childhood education professionals.
Invitations were issued to candidates with job offers in the following occupations
- nursing coordinators and supervisors;
- registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses;
- nurse practitioners;
- licensed practical nurses;
- nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates;
- early childhood educators and assistants.
International Student Stream
Three targeted draws also took place in the International Student stream.
- French-speaking candidates: 41 invitations, scores from 63;
- REDI initiative draw: 16 invitations, scores from 57;
- Healthcare and early childhood education: 1,123 invitations, scores from 46.

- supervisors in supply chain, tracking and scheduling coordination;
- accounting technicians and bookkeepers;
- insurance adjusters and claims examiners;
- administrative officers;
- administrative assistants;
- production and transportation logistics coordinators;
- data analysts;
- business systems specialists;
- software engineers and designers;
- web designers;
- civil engineers;
- industrial and manufacturing engineers;
- technical occupations in geomatics and meteorology;
- user support technicians;
- construction estimators;
- other technical occupations in therapy and assessment;
- career development practitioners and career counsellors;
- social and community service workers;
- early childhood educators and assistants;
- translators and interpreters;
- audio and video recording technicians;
- construction managers;
- managers in transportation;
- bus drivers, subway operators and other transit operators.
The REDI draw targeted graduates with a job offer in priority areas for regional development.
Invitations were issued to candidates in the following occupations
- landscape and horticulture technicians and specialists;
- licensed practical nurses;
- other technical occupations in therapy and assessment;
- nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates;
- social and community service workers;
- early childhood educators and assistants.
A separate draw was dedicated to professionals in healthcare and early childhood education.
Invitations were issued to graduates with a job offer in the following occupations
- nursing coordinators and supervisors;
- registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses;
- licensed practical nurses;
- nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates;
- early childhood educators and assistants.
In-Demand Skills Stream
Two draws took place in the In-Demand Skills stream.
- French-speaking candidates: 24 invitations, scores from 25;
- REDI-initiated draw: 7 invitations, scores from 33.
In the French-speaking draw, invitations were issued to candidates with a job offer in the following occupations:
- material handlers and freight handlers;
- home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations;
- public works maintenance equipment operators;
- construction trades helpers and labourers;
- other trades helpers and labourers;
- nursery and greenhouse workers;
- industrial sewing machine operators;
- industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers and related workers;
- testers and graders, food and beverage processing;
- metalworking labourers;
- labourers in food and beverage processing.
In the REDI draw, invitations were issued to candidates with a job offer in the following occupations:
- home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations;
- metalworking and forging machine operators;
- plastics processing machine operators;
- labourers in food and beverage processing.
Who Can Apply
Only candidates who received an invitation on April 8, 2026 can apply. The draw included profiles created and confirmed before April 6, 2026, 11:59 PM.
The application process includes two steps:
- the employer must review the employer requirements and submit an application through the Employer Portal within 14 calendar days;
- the candidate must submit their own application and payment through the OINP e-Filing Portal within 17 calendar days from the invitation date.
Starting July 2, 2025, all job approval applications are submitted only through the Employer Portal. Only candidates whose employers have submitted an offer through the system and whose EOI profiles are successfully registered will be considered.
The previous Employer Job Offer draw took place on April 1, 2026 and focused on mining-related occupations. This new round was significantly larger and covered several areas, including French-speaking candidates, REDI participants, and healthcare and early childhood education workers.
