Canada conducted a new selection of French-speaking candidates in Express Entry
The passing score increased, which is different from the last round.
On April 15, 2026, Canada held a new category-based Express Entry draw targeting candidates with French language skills. In this round, 4,000 people received invitations to apply for permanent residence.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 419. In comparison, the previous draw on March 18, 2026 had a minimum score of 393, with 4,000 candidates also invited. The cutoff score increased by 26 points, while the number of invitations remained unchanged.

The higher cutoff score makes this draw less accessible compared to the previous round, but Canada continues to hold regular category-based draws for French-speaking candidates. This highlights the important role of French language professionals in the country's immigration system.
