Canada conducted a new selection for French-speaking candidates in Express Entry

The passing score decreased, as did the number of invited candidates.

On March 4, 2026, Canada held a new category-based Express Entry draw targeting candidates with French language skills. In this round, 5,500 people received invitations to apply for permanent residence.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 397. For comparison, in the previous draw on February 6, 2026, the minimum score was 400, and 8,500 candidates received invitations. The cutoff score dropped by 3 points, while the number of invitations decreased.

The lower cutoff score makes the draw more accessible for candidates with strong French language skills. Canada continues to actively invite French-speaking professionals, confirming this as a priority in its immigration policy.
