Canada conducted the second large Express Entry draw with a minimum passing score

6,000 candidates with Canadian work experience received invitations for permanent residence.

On January 21, Canada held its second major draw of the year through the Express Entry system, inviting candidates with work experience under the Canadian Experience Class category.

6,000 people received invitations to apply for permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 509. This is the lowest score for Canadian Experience Class since September 19, 2024, when the cut-off score was also 509 and 4,000 candidates were invited.

Compared to the previous draw on January 7, 2026, the cut-off score dropped by another 2 points, while the number of invitations decreased by 2,000. Despite the lower number of invitations, this round became more accessible in terms of points and shows that candidates with Canadian work experience remain a priority in the Express Entry system.
