Canada conducted a large-scale selection for candidates with work experience in the country
The passing score dropped to a record low.
On December 16, Canada held a new Express Entry draw, inviting candidates with work experience under the Canadian Experience Class category.
5,000 people received invitations to apply for permanent residence. The minimum cut-off score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) was 515. This is the lowest score for the Canadian Experience Class stream in 2025 and one of the largest draws during this period.
Compared to the previous draw on December 10, 2025, the cut-off score dropped by another 5 points, but the number of invitations decreased by 1,000. Despite this, the draw remained substantial and confirmed the high activity of the immigration program for candidates with Canadian work experience at year's end.

How does the Express Entry system work?
Express Entry is an online platform through which Canada selects candidates for permanent residence under three federal programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program for skilled professionals;
- Canadian Experience Class for those who have already worked in Canada;
- Federal Skilled Trades Program for skilled trades workers.
CRS points are awarded for various factors: age, education, English or French language skills, professional and Canadian experience, marital status, and adaptability.
