Canada conducted a new selection for immigrants with provincial nomination
The new Express Entry round shows a decrease in both the cutoff score and the number of invitations issued.
On October 27, 2025, the Canadian government held a new Express Entry draw targeting candidates with a provincial nomination. This time, 302 candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residence.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 761. For comparison, in the previous draw on October 14, the cutoff was 778, and 345 people received invitations. The current results show a lower minimum score with fewer invitations issued.
Candidates with a provincial nomination automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points. This means that in this draw, you only needed to score 161 points from the core factors: age, education, English or French language skills, work experience, and adaptability to Canada.

Compared to the previous draw, these new results may reflect quota adjustments or changes in Canada's immigration policy.
How provincial immigration programs work
Each Canadian province has the right to select candidates who meet its economic and demographic priorities. To receive a nomination, you need to:
- qualify under one of the federal immigration programs;
- create a profile in the Express Entry system;
- receive a provincial nomination, which adds 600 CRS points and significantly increases your chances of getting an invitation.
