Interactive maps of decorated houses for Halloween in Canada
Special maps will help you find spooky decorations and haunted houses in major cities across the country.
Want to see the most impressive Halloween-decorated homes in Canada? Special interactive maps make finding spooky decorations and haunted houses much easier! In 2025, these maps are available in several cities across the country, though their coverage varies—from comprehensive city-wide solutions to local neighborhood initiatives.
The most developed maps exist for Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Edmonton. Other cities have various solutions: suburbs of Toronto and neighborhoods of Montreal offer local options, while Vancouver and Calgary have virtually no centralized maps, but do have popular neighborhoods with large-scale decorations.
Decorated House Maps by Canadian City
Ottawa and the 613 Region
The interactive Halloween 613 Map is celebrating its sixth season in 2025. The map covers not only Ottawa but also surrounding regions, including Gatineau and other areas with the 613, 819, 343, 753, 468, and 873 area codes.
Map Categories
The map is divided into four main color-coded categories. Haunted houses and walk-through attractions are full horror installations with fog, live actors, and special effects. Halloween decorations include decorated homes of varying complexity—from simple to large-scale installations suitable for family viewing.
Spooky paid attractions are professional haunted houses, often raising money for charity. Accessible trick-or-treating zones are specially marked for people with special needs, including homes with teal pumpkins for children with allergies and low-scare locations.
Features
Each location on the map includes photos, hours of operation, scare level ratings, and tags (family-friendly, 19+, free, charitable). The map is updated daily by creator Jessie Sharp, who personally visits almost every submitted house for photos and videos.
The main new feature for 2025 is a simplified process for adding locations. Now you just click the "Add Haunt" button directly on the map, without having to fill out separate forms like in previous years. The map uses the Proxi Maps platform and is optimized for Chrome browser on mobile and desktop devices. In 2024, the map featured over 250 locations.
The map is completely free, runs ad-free on a volunteer basis, and accepts donations to cover hosting costs.

Common Features of Successful Maps
The most popular maps share several characteristics: long-standing tradition (6 to 10+ years), personal dedication from creators who often personally visit and photograph homes, easy location submission through direct buttons on the map or simple forms, visual elements like photos and scare rating systems, and mobile optimization.
Most maps are completely free and run on a volunteer basis, with some accepting donations to cover costs. Scare ratings and family-friendly systems are becoming standard, helping parents plan appropriate routes for children of different ages.
No matter how simple or elaborate your home decorations are, all locations are welcome on these maps. It's a great way to plan a route to see holiday decorations and make the holiday memorable for both thrill-seekers and families with young children.
