Canada has lowered the passing score for immigrants with provincial nomination

Immigration Canada held another Express Entry draw for candidates with provincial nominations, making the requirements more accessible.

On September 15, 2025, the Canadian government conducted a new Express Entry draw targeting candidates with provincial nominations. As a result, 228 candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residency.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was 746. In comparison, the previous draw on September 2 had a cut-off score of 772 and invited 249 candidates. The current results show a further decrease in the threshold with fewer invitations issued.

It's important to remember that candidates with provincial nominations automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points. This means that in this draw, candidates only needed to score 146 points from core factors such as age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and adaptability to Canada.
