Canada invited 202 provincial candidates in the new Express Entry draw
The minimum score required for Express Entry has increased. Competition among program participants is intensifying.
On July 21, 2025, the Canadian government conducted another round of selection under the Express Entry system, targeting candidates with provincial nominations. As a result, 202 applicants received invitations to apply for permanent resident status.
The cut-off score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) was set at 788 points. This score is significantly higher than the results of the previous draw on July 7, indicating increased competition among program participants.
It's worth noting that candidates with a provincial nomination automatically receive a 600-point CRS bonus. Therefore, to participate in this draw, candidates needed to score at least 188 points based on core factors such as age, education level, language proficiency, work experience, and adaptability to Canadian society.

Compared to the July draw, which issued 356 invitations with a threshold of 750 points, the current round showed a significant reduction in the number of invited candidates. These changes may reflect strategic adjustments in immigration policy or redistribution of annual quotas.

Canadian provinces have the authority to nominate candidates for immigration based on their own socio-economic needs. To receive provincial support, you need to:
- meet the criteria of one of the federal immigration programs;
- create a profile in the Express Entry system;
- obtain a provincial nomination, which provides an additional 600 CRS points and significantly increases your chances of receiving an invitation.
