Canada invited 356 provincial candidates in new Express Entry draw
The minimum passing score was 750, which is slightly higher than the previous selection round.
On July 7, 2025, Canada conducted a new draw in the Express Entry system, targeting candidates with a nomination from one of the Canadian provinces. As a result, 356 people received invitations to apply for permanent residence.
The minimum passing score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) was 750. Although it's slightly higher compared to the June 23 draw, it's still lower than the record highs in this category, which may indicate a balance between the number of applications and selection quotas.
Remember that candidates who receive a provincial nomination automatically get an additional 600 points in the CRS. Therefore, to be selected in this draw, participants needed to score at least 150 points on the main criteria: age, education, knowledge of English or French, work experience, and adaptability to Canada.

The previous draw for provincial candidates took place on June 23. At that time, 503 invitations were issued, and the passing score was 742. The decrease in the number of invitations in the new round may be related to quota adjustments or internal government priorities.
How does immigration through provincial programs work?
Each Canadian province has the right to recommend candidates for immigration who meet its economic and demographic needs. To receive such a nomination, you need to:
- qualify for one of the federal immigration programs;
- create a profile in the Express Entry system;
- receive a nomination from a province, which adds 600 points to your CRS score and significantly increases your chances of getting an invitation.
