Canada increases the number of invitations for provincial candidates in Express Entry

The minimum passing score has decreased, indicating an increase in admission quotas and changes in selection strategy.

On June 23, 2025, Canada conducted a new draw in the Express Entry system, targeting candidates who received a nomination from one of the Canadian provinces. As a result, 503 people were invited to apply for permanent residence.

The minimum passing score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) was 742. Although it's lower than in the June 10 draw, it's still high compared to other categories, reflecting the limited number of invitations and strong competition among nominated candidates.

As a reminder, candidates who receive a provincial nomination automatically get an additional 600 points added to their CRS score. This means they only need to score 142 points on the core criteria — age, education, English or French language skills, work experience, and adaptability factors.
