Ontario launches new employer portal for immigration program
Starting July 2, employers will be the first to initiate the application process.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is going digital. Starting July 2, 2025, the new OINP Employer Portal will replace the paper-based Employer Form.
Employers will now initiate the immigration process by submitting job details directly through the portal. Only then can candidates register in the Expression of Interest (EOI) system for one of the streams with a job offer from an employer:
This digital shift addresses user feedback, making the process more convenient, faster, and secure for both employers and applicants. Key benefits include:
- Integration with My Ontario system — one-stop service;
- Full online application submission and management;
- Direct communication between employers and the program;
- Secure document upload;
- Auto-fill forms — less manual input;
- Option to add multiple contacts and representatives for the employer;
- Online application status tracking.
The transition will affect current and future EOI registrations for employer-driven streams. Important dates to note:
- June 20 to July 2 — No new EOI registrations can be created.
- June 21 and 22 — All current EOI registrations will be automatically withdrawn.
- June 27 to 29 — The portal will be unavailable for all OINP streams.
- July 2 — The new Employer Portal launches, allowing EOI re-registration.
After the launch, employers can submit job information through the portal, and applicants can re-register their applications.
