Alberta conducted a series of immigration selections for specialists in priority sectors
The province invited candidates from the fields of technology, construction, and agriculture.
From May 22 to 29, the province of Alberta conducted a series of immigration draws under the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Each round invited candidates working in the province's priority economic sectors: technology, construction, and agriculture. A total of 56 invitations to apply for permanent residence were issued.
May 22 Draw
On May 22, Alberta held a draw for technology professionals through the Accelerated Tech Pathway.
- Number of invitations: 22
- Minimum score: 69
Candidates must be registered in Express Entry, have a job offer from an Alberta IT company, and qualify for one of the federal immigration programs.
May 28 Draw
On May 28, a draw was held for construction industry professionals through the priority sector selection stream.
- Number of invitations: 20
- Minimum score: 67
As with other priority sector draws, candidates needed to have experience in construction and an active Express Entry profile.
May 29 Draw
On May 29, Alberta sent invitations to candidates with experience in agriculture through the priority sector stream.
- Number of invitations: 14
- Minimum score: 64
Invitations were sent to candidates registered in the Express Entry system, eligible for one of the federal immigration programs, and with relevant work experience in agriculture.
The previous series of draws took place on May 13 and 15, when temporary workers and tourism and hospitality professionals were invited.
