British Columbia conducted a new selection for immigrant entrepreneurs

British Columbia conducted a new selection for immigrant entrepreneurs

The province issued invitations for both the main and regional streams, with the required scores remaining unchanged.

On May 28, British Columbia held a new immigration draw for entrepreneurs under its provincial program. Invitations were issued for two streams.

In the main stream, 9 candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residence. The minimum score remained at 115, the same as in the previous round.

This stream targets experienced businesspeople who:

  • have previously run a business or managed a company;
  • have personal net worth of at least CAD $600,000;
  • are ready to invest at least CAD $200,000 in starting or buying a business in the province.

There was also a draw for the regional stream, which supports small business development in smaller communities. Fewer than 5 people received invitations, with a minimum score of 123.

The requirements for this stream are more accessible:

  • personal net worth of at least CAD $300,000;
  • minimum investment of CAD $100,000.

The minimum scores in this round remained unchanged compared to previous draws. The province continues to strategically develop entrepreneurial immigration, supporting investment inflow and stimulating economic growth across various regions.
