Manitoba conducted a new selection: foreign specialists were invited

The province lowered the entrance requirements and focused on targeted recruitment to meet the needs of the local economy.

On May 29, 2025, the province of Manitoba held a new selection round for foreign skilled workers under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

This time, 30 candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residency through the strategic recruitment initiative. This means that applicants were directly invited as they met specific economic needs of the province.

The minimum score required in Manitoba's assessment system was 606. Among those invited were 5 participants from the federal Express Entry system, giving them the opportunity to benefit from an expedited application process.

Compared to the previous selection on May 15, the score threshold has decreased again. This may indicate an expansion of eligibility criteria or reduced competition among candidates.

Manitoba continues to take a targeted approach in selecting candidates, focusing on those who can fill skill shortages in priority sectors.
