Yukon has started sending invitations to candidates for permanent residency in 2025

Candidates with local work experience, education from the region, and French language skills will have an advantage.
The government of Yukon has announced that invitations to apply for the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) in 2025 have been sent out. These invitations are being sent to employers who previously submitted expressions of interest during the specified period from March 31 to April 22.
Selection process for 2025
In 2025, Yukon can nominate up to 215 foreign candidates. Out of 502 applications received from employers, 392 met the priority criteria.
Priority areas were determined through discussions with industry organizations and the local business community.
This year, the YNP is focusing on quality selection. The highest chances of nomination are for:
- Foreign citizens who have lived and worked in Yukon for at least one year;
- Graduates of Yukon University;
- Francophones and French-speaking candidates;
- Recipients of temporary measure letters of support.
These categories will be considered first. Other applications meeting basic requirements will enter a random selection pool for remaining spots.
Due to the high number of applications meeting 2025 priorities, not all employers were selected. Those who didn't receive an invitation were either placed in the random selection pool or notified that they didn't meet the criteria.
Employers who received invitations will get instructions via email on how to submit a full application.
If you work in Yukon, speak French, or have local education, you have a good chance of being nominated. Keep an eye on our updates for important information about Yukon's immigration program and other provincial programs.
