Canada sent out invitations to candidates from the Express Entry pool

Several thousand people got a chance at a permanent residence permit.

On May 24, Canada held a new draw for candidates in the Express Entry system.

Invitations were extended to 4,800 people who scored at least 488 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System. Points are awarded for factors such as age, language skills, education, work experience, and so on.

The previous Express Entry selection was held on April 26, and the minimum score was slightly lower - 483. The lowest score in this year's drawings was March 29th, when invited candidates needed 481.

On May 10, Canada also held an Express Entry drawing for participants in provincial immigration programs.
