Winnipeg Folk Festival announces its lineup

Canada's largest and one of the oldest festivals, once home to such folk legends as Joan Baez and Pete Seeger, has announced its list of participants.

Headliners of the festival are the bands Fleet Foxes and War on Drugs, veteran country singer Emmylou Harris, author of the indie hit "Riptide" Vance Joy and mysterious Canadian Orville Peck, who never shows his face.

KT Tunstall, Rufus Wainwright, Fay Webster, Panda Bear & Sonic Boom and Chicago indie rockers Fruit Bats will also perform on the main stage this year.

The festival traditionally invites not only famous musicians, but also artisans from all over the world, offering handmade goods. The Winnipeg Folk Festival also has plenty of activities for families with children: festival is the winner of the "Best Family Program at the Festival" award.

Tickets are on sale now, starting at $68 CAD for kids and $85 CAD for adults for one day of the festival. The minimum cost for camping at the festival site is $218.50 CAD.

Manitoba's most-attended festival will take place at Birds Hill Provincial Park July 6-9.
