Immigration to Prince Edward Island through the Occupations in Demand stream
Workers in certain medium and low-skilled occupations can get a permanent residency through the PEI Occupations in Demand stream.
The Occupations in Demand stream of the Prince Edward Island provincial program allows mid and low-skilled professionals who have found work in the province to immigrate.
Eligibility
To apply for the Occupations in Demand stream, you must meet the following requirements:
- be between the ages of 18 and 59;
- have at least a high school education;
- get a job offer in the province in one of the suitable occupations (list below);
- have 1 year of work experience corresponding to the job offer;
- demonstrate proficiency in English or French at level 4 on the CLB scale (basic level);
- show the ability to support yourself and your family members in Prince Edward Island.
Suitable occupations
Only representatives of the following professions can apply for the Occupations in Demand stream:
- nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates;
- transport truck drivers;
- construction trades helpers and labourers;
- light duty cleaners.
Candidate evaluation
Prince Edward Island evaluates applicants for immigration using the provincial Expression of Interest system, in which you can score up to 100 points. Points are awarded as follows:
