Canada cancels import duties on Ukrainian goods

The average annual volume of Ukrainian exports to Canada was $170.8 million CAD.

The countries had already concluded a CUFTA, but now all duties are cancelled. From 2019 to 2021, Canada received about $2.6 million CAD annually from imports of Ukrainian goods.

Ukraine supplied electric heaters, copper and iron products, clothing, furniture, and food. For example, in 2019, Ukraine provided 26% of apple juice in Canada and 6% of skis. We wrote article about ten Ukrainian brands that successfully entered the Canadian market.

Now customs duties for Ukrainian businessmen are going to be cancelled for a year. As soon as the cancellation is approved, the Canada Border Services Agency will publish detailed information on how Ukrainian exporters will be able to take advantage of the exemption.
