British Columbia raised passing scores dramatically in the new draw

The province invited in-demand specialists.

On September 13, British Columbia held a draw under the provincial immigration program. The province sent out 300 invitations. They were received by skilled workers, university graduates, and candidates with in-demand occupations.

251 applicants were selected in the general drawing. The passing scores were distributed as follows:

Another 49 candidates received invitations in the targeted drawing. The province chose educators, healthcare professionals, and veterinarians. They all needed to score a minimum of 60 points, and the invitations were distributed as follows:

Profession Number of invitations Categories
Early childhood educators and assistants 27 Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry option
Healthcare professionals 12 Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry option, Entry Level and Semi Skilled
Healthcare assistants Less than 5 Entry Level and Semi Skilled
Veterinarians and veterinary technicians Less than 5 Skilled Worker, International Graduate, including Express Entry option

Compared to the previous draw, which took place on September 7, the passing scores in the general drawing have increased dramatically, while in the targeted drawing they have remained unchanged.

We recommend keeping an eye on the history of passing scores and the number of invitations to improve your chances of immigrating to British Columbia.
